GETTING STARTED
Helpful answers for setup, espresso extraction, and milk frothing.
Before your first brew, wash the removable accessories with warm water and mild dish soap. Fill the water tank, turn on the machine, and wait about 2 minutes until all buttons remain illuminated. Place a cup under the steam wand, open the steam knob, and let hot water flow for about 8 seconds to prime the pump. Close the knob, then run a brewing cycle without coffee grounds to rinse the system.
We recommend 7–9g of ground coffee for a single shot and 13–15g for a double shot. Distribute the grounds evenly and tamp to create a flat, level surface. Adjust the grind size and dose to suit your coffee and taste preferences.
Use finely ground coffee suitable for espresso. If your espresso flows too quickly, try a finer grind. If it flows very slowly or stops, try a slightly coarser grind. Make one adjustment at a time to find the best extraction.
Before brewing, run a cycle without coffee grounds to preheat the brew head, portafilter, and filter basket. Warm your cup with hot water as well. These simple steps help reduce heat loss during extraction.
Use fresh, cold whole milk and a stainless steel milk pitcher. Wait until the Steam button stays illuminated, then briefly purge water from the steam wand. Position the steam tip just below the milk surface near the side of the pitcher to create a gentle whirlpool. Lower the tip slightly as the milk expands, then turn off the steam before removing the pitcher.
Yes. Press and hold the Single or Double Shot button for 3 seconds until the machine beeps and begins brewing. Press the same button again when your desired volume is reached to save the setting. The programmable brewing time is 8–60 seconds. To restore the default volumes, press and hold both shot buttons together for 5 seconds.
SOLVE A PROBLEM
Quick solutions for the most common product issues.
First, make sure the water tank is filled and properly installed. If the machine is new or has run out of water, use the hot water function to prime the pump. If coffee still won't flow, check whether the grounds are too fine, overfilled, or tamped too firmly. Clean the filter basket if necessary. If the problem continues, contact CASABREWS Support.
Slow extraction is often caused by overly fine grounds, too much coffee, or excessive tamping. Try a slightly coarser grind or a smaller dose. If espresso flows too quickly, use a finer grind, check the coffee dose, and tamp more firmly. Adjust one factor at a time.
A little water may come out before steaming begins. Press the Steam button and wait until it stops flashing and stays illuminated. Briefly open the steam knob to release condensation, then close it before frothing. If the wand continues to produce only water or fails to heat, check the water tank and steam nozzle. Contact Support if the issue persists.
This usually means the machine is in overheating protection mode. After steaming, the boiler needs to cool before brewing espresso. Place a cup under the steam wand and open the steam knob to release hot water. Once all buttons stay illuminated, close the knob. The machine is ready to brew again.
Check that the water tank is seated correctly and the drip tray is not full. If water leaks around the portafilter, make sure it is securely locked, the filter is not overfilled, and the brew head rim is free of coffee grounds. If water continues leaking from the bottom of the machine, stop using it and contact CASABREWS Support.
If all buttons flash together, the machine may be in water shortage protection mode. Refill the tank and use the hot water function to prime the pump. If only the Single and Double Shot buttons flash after steaming, follow the cooling procedure above. If the machine still does not heat, the lights continue flashing, or normal operation cannot be restored, contact CASABREWS Support.
CARE & SERVICE
Cleaning, maintenance, parts, warranty, and service information.
Immediately after frothing, briefly open the steam knob to purge any remaining milk. Turn the knob off and wipe the wand with a damp cloth. For deeper cleaning, allow the wand to cool, then remove the steam nozzle and rinse it under running water. If the nozzle is blocked, carefully clear the opening with a pin while the machine is turned off and cool.
Allow the portafilter to cool completely before removing the filter basket. Rinse both parts with warm water to remove coffee oils and grounds. If a basket becomes clogged, soak it in boiling water for 10 minutes, then rinse thoroughly. Do not put these parts in the dishwasher.
Regularly remove loose coffee grounds with a soft brush. Insert the empty portafilter, place a cup underneath, and run a double-shot cycle without coffee. Once the machine has cooled, remove the portafilter and wipe the brew head with a clean cloth. Do not disassemble the brew head.
The machine displays a descaling reminder after approximately 500 brewing cycles. Fill the tank with a suitable descaling solution, following the manual's dilution instructions. Place a large container under the outlet, then press and hold the Double Shot and Steam buttons together for 5 seconds to start the descaling cycle. Each cycle runs for about 7 minutes. Repeat as directed, then run two additional cycles using clean water only.
A wet coffee puck does not always mean something is wrong with your machine. Check that you are using the recommended coffee dose and an appropriate espresso grind. Tamp the grounds evenly and allow the portafilter to cool before removing it. If the coffee also tastes weak or extracts unusually quickly, try adjusting the grind size and dose.
Turn off the machine, close the steam knob, and allow the wand to cool completely. Unscrew the steam nozzle and rinse it under running water. If the opening is blocked, carefully clear it with a pin. Reattach the nozzle and test the steam function. If steam still does not flow, contact CASABREWS Support.
